Hot on the heels of her 2011 world tour dates announcement, Miley Cyrus returned to Twitter after ditching the social network in October 2009. "This is my new way to connect," the "LOL: Laughing Out Loud" star tweeted her first message on Monday, March 21.
Instead of opening a new account, Miley took over her producer Rock Mafia's page. "When I need to speak out I will tweet from @Rock_Mafia ROCK MAFIA FOREVER xMC," she wrote. To convince her devotees that it's indeed her, she posted a picture of herself and songwriter-producer Antonina Armato from their studio session.
Someone on Rock Mafia then posted, "She will tweet from here till we convince her to make a new account !!!! ;)." But Miley's still reluctant to open a new account, writing a few hours later "Wanted to make it clear I'M NOT rejoining twitter. Im only using it when with RM writing! Fans are the best way to get inspired. love u xMC."
That didn't prevent Miley to have fun and make her way to the trending topic though. The former "Hannah Montana" startweeted "11:23" to remember her birthday on November 23, "I look everyday. It's my birthday & it reminds me I am meant to be here. Fulfilling my purpose to spread love. x MC."
People then followed up her message by creating "#1123MC" hashtag. "#1123MC ha !!!! were almost trending !!!! lets get it !!!" someone on Rock Mafia excitedly responded to the hashtag. "We showed miley the thousands and thousands of #1123mc 's !!!! it made her night !!!!" MileyCyrus deleted her Twitter when she still dated Liam Hemsworth. One of her last messages reportedly read, "FYI Liam doesn't have a twitter and he wants ME to delete mine with good reason." By the time she shut down her account, she had over 2 million followers.
Soon after she quit, people started online campaign dubbed "mileycomeback" and her father Billy Ray Cyrus urged her to return to Twitter, writing on his own account "Miley. You are light in a world of darkness. You were born 'Destiny Hope Cyrus' for a reason. You can't leave everyone now. We r countin on u."
