Barely a few weeks after Canadian superstar Justin Bieber left our shores, another great singer performed in our country: Miley Cyrus! Let’s see what the “Milesters” had to say about her concert at the Mall of Asia Concert grounds over the weekend. “It’s the best concert ever! Super worth it. I’ll buy VIP tickets next time,” said Stephanie Nicole Go in a post on the Manila Concert Scene (MCS) Facebook fan page. Megan Maxine Fernandez found the concert to be “the best since Adam Lambert.”
Even though Mich Tupas and her group were seated in the bronze section, she said, “It was worth watching.”
Despite only seeing Cyrus on screen, 14-year-old Taal National High School junior Katrina Burgos shared that it was an amazing concert, while 17-year-old Zyra Quierrez, an AB Communication Arts major from Letran Manila, agreed with Burgos.
Most concert fans couldn’t help but notice Miley Cyrus’ beauty. “She was really amazing, hot, gorgeous … Perfectly astonishing. I was screaming ‘Miley, Miley, Miley!” added Burgos.
Minette L. Mendoza, a PR and events specialist who watched the concert with her daughter Brooke, described Miley Cyrus as “exceptionally awesome, a total hottie, down-to-earth, beautiful and a super amazing artist.”
Better than Bieber?
Cyrus seemed to have won the match for a better concert here in the Philippines. She was in her best condition during the performance, and she has had more years in show business, compared to Justin Bieber.
“Miley seems to be a more seasoned artist compared to Bieber. She had full control of her show,” remarked gallery owner Enrico Manlapaz.
Eighteen-year-old Jommhelle Rhenz D. Abarro, who recently graduated with a BS Nursing degree from San Sebastian College-Recoletos de Cavite, ran down his sweet experiences with Cyrus:
“I was one of the organizers of both grand fans’ day parties. I won in the contests. I took home a life-sized Miley standee. I stalked, attended the press conference, and watched her up close. I saw my face thrice on TV. I was in the VIP section of the concert. At the meet-and-greet I told Miley, ‘I heart you so much, Miley,’; she replied, ‘Love you, too.’ I was able to put my arm around Miley’s shoulder. I got a warm hug from her and I was able to smell her. God, what a scent! I enjoyed the concert so much and just rocked out.”
“Miley is almost perfect, if not perfect!” exclaimed Miriam College high school junior Brooke Villanueva, 14, who didn’t regret being a fan. “Miley has this sincerity in her big heart,” she said.
Jillian Daphne Ng, 19, BS Management senior at Ateneo de Manila University, enjoyed the concert, “Miley was GREAT,” he said. For Darhenz Lingasin, 17, an Associate in International Travel & Tourism Management sophomore from Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas, he agreed that the concert and Miley “was just all perfect.”
“It’s the best concert ever,” gushed Krystel Gayle Ignacio, 15, a BS Accountancy freshman of Lyceum of the Philippines University. Ignacio emphasized how perfect the concert was and how beautiful Miley is.
Hazel Cantos-Cabuay, general manager of Crazydeals.ph, watched the concert with daughter Sophia Cassandra Cabuay, a grade 1 student, who is an avid fan of Cyrus.
Sophia was into Hannah Montana, so mom Hazel had no choice but to watch the entire season. “I saw how Miley actually evolved from being Hannah Montana to being the ‘rock star’ that she is now,” Cantos-Cabuay says.
“It was the first time my daughter and I saw her in person that night. I must say for a mom like me, I was amazed not just at how beautiful Miley is, but how she has evolved as a performer from singing pop songs to now hearing her perform. She was such an excellent performer, with a very great voice, probably not what my daughter or other kids who attended the concert expected,” added Cantos-Cabuay.
“I was amazed not just by how tall and beautiful she was, but by how you could see the passion in her eyes, and the way she performed on stage.”
